Bio

Son of cartoonist Basil Wolverton, Monte began his career as a graphic designer in the early 1970s. His cartoons and comics were first regularly published in CB Radio magazine, Creative Computing, CAR-toons and Youth Magazine. He worked in advertising, publication design and illustration in L.A., Seattle and Portland, and was a contributor to MAD magazine. He has been a political cartoonist since the mid 1990s, and resides in Southwest Washington State, where he also dabbles in fine art and sculpture.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the AAEC is to champion and defend editorial cartooning and free speech as essential to liberty in the United States and throughout the world.

The AAEC aims to be an international leader in support of the human, civil, and artistic rights of editorial cartoonists around the world, and to stand with other international groups in support of the profession.
