SF’23: Cartoonist Confab Recap

Two weeks ago, editorial cartoonists from across North America (and a few from Down Under) convened in San Francisco — and the reviews are in!

Mike Peterson‘s (now) award-winning coverage of the joint AAEC/ACC convention rolled out over several days on The Daily Cartoonist: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

Ted Rall & Scott Stantis did their weekly podcast live from the event with guest AAEC President Jack Ohman in what proved to be hard-hitting 90-minute discussion about the state of news media in America today. The whole thing is worth listening to: click here.

The Cartoon Art Museum posted a report from the Friday Night Opening Reception on Facebook.

The biggest field report by far came from Canadian cartoonist , who wrote an entire article about the long weekend for his blog. https://mackaycartoons.net/2023/10/15/sunday-october-15-2023/

The Locher Fellow will receive a one-year Regular membership in the AAEC, be a guest of the CXC Festival — held every fall in Columbus, Ohio —  and have the opportunity to meet with editorial cartoonists during the year of the Fellowship for portfolio reviews and career advice.
