Political cartoonists around the world often risk their freedom (and sometimes their lives) just by doing their job. Cartoonists Rights Network International honors these artists each year with the Robert Russell Courage in Cartooning Award. Know of someone? Nominations are now open:
“As ever, we are not seeking to recognise a particularly excellent cartoon but rather a cartoonist who has shown remarkable courage while suffering threat(s) that constitute a violation of their human rights, especially their freedom of expression in the last twelve months,” said CRNI Executive Director Terry Anderson.
Nominations may be sent to email@example.com no later than Friday, July 9th at 12.00 EST
