Happy 75th birthday NCS! The National Cartoonist Society held their first meeting on March 1, 1946. The Daily Cartoonist has a look back:
While the NCS and AAEC formed at different times, for different reasons, there has been a lot of cross-pollination over the decades, and many editorial cartoonists are active in both groups.
Over the past weekend, the NCS threw open their virtual doors and held an open house for cartoonists around the country, touting their new website and their plans for a post-pandemic world. While it wasn’t quite the same as hanging out in a bar, cartoonists still got to hang out and have a drink with their fellow ink-slingers on Zoom.
