The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum has been celebrating the life and work of Ollie Harrington with a new retrospective — and this Saturday, March 5, they’re hosting a lecture and tour of the exhibit in Columbus, Ohio. Harrington’s blistering takes on race and civil rights in the mid-20th century drew the attention of the FBI and eventually pushed the cartoonist to leave the America.
Even if you can’t make it to the Ohio State University campus, “Dark Laughter Revisited: The Life and Times of Ollie Harrington” runs through May 8, 2022. Click here for details: https://cartoons.osu.edu/
