The accolades for Clay Bennett continued this week when he was named as a finalist for this year’s pulitzer prize in illustrated reporting and commentary (the Award Formerly Known as Editorial Cartooning). The Chattanooga Times Free Press noted this was the eighth time Bennett has been a finalist in the pulitzer competition, and won the journalism award in 2002 for his political cartoons.
The panel of judges described Bennett’s work as “a portfolio of deceptively gentle, mostly wordless cartoons full of juxtapositions that ably communicate complex, sophisticated messages.” Congrats Clay!
