Since 1989, Jeff Koterba has been drawing six editorial cartoons a week for the Omaha World-Herald, resulting in hate mail from both sides of the aisle. In 2002, he was named a finalist for Editorial Cartoonist of the Year from the National Cartoonists Society, and in 2000, he placed second in the National Headliner Awards. Nationally syndicated to over 400 newspapers with King Features, his work appears in such publications as The New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, USA Today, Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Dallas Morning-News.
Koterba’s Inklings, a memoir about cartooning, a complicated father, Tourette’s Syndrome and bad weather, will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in the fall of 2009.
When Koterba isn’t writing and drawing, he’s performing with his jump-blues and swing band, Prairie Cats. The Prairie Cats have performed at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, the Derby Lounge in Hollywood, and Windows on the World at the World Trade Center in the summer of 2001.
