Bolling 2022 Berryman Award Winner

A big congrats to Ruben Bolling on winning this year’s Berryman Award from the National Press Foundation. The judges cited Bolling’s mordant wit, superior artwork and inventive delivery. “The cartoonist parodies well-known American cultural memes, from Charles M. Schultz’s Peanuts to Richard Scarry’s children’s books to The Matrix.”

Also, kudos to Tim Campbell for being named runner-up. Campbell was selected for his “hilarious and heartbreaking illustrated series based on comments the artist collected from middle school students during the pandemic.”

The Clifford K. and James T. Berryman Award is named for the only father-son pair of cartoonists to ever win the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning.
