The AAEC and Association of Canadian Cartoonists will be teaming up with the Université du Québec à Montréal for a 3-day celebration political cartoonists, October 3-6, 2024.

Award update

Cartoonist Ed Hall needs to make more room on his shelf after winning this year's Sunshine State Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, and First Place in two different categories from the Florida Press Association.

Congrats too to AAEC member Peter Evans on landing Second Place for Editorial Cartooning in Division C, and cartoonists Steve Borggren and Clay Jones for placing and showing, respectively.

Meanwhile, out in California, comics journalist Brian Fies was bestowed with a golden resolution from Sonoma County Board of Supervisors for his "contributions to the arts and literature." Fies will be on discussing "A Fire Story" and working under adverse conditions at the upcoming AAEC Convention in Sacramento, CA, from Sept. 20-23.
