AAEC’s Satire Fest is coming to San Francisco!

Start planning your visit to San Francisco to take part in the AAEC's Satire Fest! The festival takes place October 9th, 10th and 11th (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) in downtown San Francisco. A Satire Fest website with more information about events and programming will be up for your web eyeballs very soon.

There will be fabulous speakers, presenters and entertainment. There will be boat rides, aquariums and F/A-18 Hornets flying overhead. (You think I jest.) We'll be doing events with the Cartoon Art Museum and the Schulz Museum. This is going to be a public celebration of satire in its many forms, from traditional editorial cartoons to web comics to animation. Save the date and stay tuned for more info!

LOCHER FELLOWSHIP

The AAEC John Locher Memorial Fellowship is awarded each year to one early-career cartoonist whose work demonstrates clear opinions and strong artistry on political and social topics. Deadline to be considered is the end of March.

The Locher Fellow will receive a one-year Regular membership in the AAEC, be a guest of the CXC Festival — held every fall in Columbus, Ohio — and have the opportunity to meet with editorial cartoonists during the year of the Fellowship for portfolio reviews and career advice.
