Congratulations to Adam Zyglis, whose cartoons for The Buffalo News won first place in the Editorial Cartoon category in the National Headliner Awards. Zyglis, who won the 2015 Pulitzer for cartooning, was a National Headliner runner-up in 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2023.
The judges had this to say about Zyglis’ work: “Zyglis’ portfolio demonstrated creativity, clarity, and urgency, consistently evoking an emotional response — particularly when addressing challenging issues like international conflict and national politics.”
Clay Bennett came in second for his cartoons with the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Bennett won first place in the National Headliner Awards in 2023 and 2024. Gary Markstein won third place in the competition.
