1) Super short notice but — Ann Telnaes just notified us that she’ll be on an online panel tonight, Oct. 13 at 6pm, with Barry Blitt and Pia Guerra as they explore the art of political cartooning with Scott Simon, host of NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday. 2) Next up: Adam Zyglis, this year’s winner of The Award Formerly Known as The Thomas Nast, sits down with Rob Rogers for an online session they’re calling “OPC Award Winners Share Their Stories.” This event requires registration, but you better hurry: it’s happening tomorrow, Wednesday Oct. 14, from 6-7pm.
4) Block out Friday night, Oct 22, and Saturday afternoon, Oct. 24 for a live (and no doubt lively) conversation: The Future of American Political Cartoons: A Symposium in Honor of Pat Oliphant.
The two day streaming event by the University of Virginia Library includes Keith Knight, Jen Sorensen, Matt Bors, Adam Zyglis, Signe Wilkinson, Rob Rogers, Ann Telnaes, Kevin Kallaugher, and of course, Pat Oliphant. Registration is required, so sign up now:
