A cartoon by Chris Britt on the Kavanaugh hearing had generated outrage from conservatives, right-wing media personalities and numerous death threats — driving the cartoonist off of social media.
The cartoon, which picked up on the Brett Kavanaugh's mention of his daughter praying for the nominee's attempted-rape accuser Christine Ford, ran on Friday, the day after the hearing, but didn't go viral until Fox News pick up the story from several right-wing websites.

The State-Journal Register talked to the cartoonist about the backlash. The cartoon appeared online and through his syndicate, but not in his usual paper, the Illinois Times, who eventually asked Britt to remove their usual stamp from under his signature.
The Washington Post followed up Wednesday with a longer piece on the controversy, where Britt told Michael Cavna “I don’t mind people being angry with my cartoons,” but people “posting my home address online and [threatening] me” is another matter."
UPDATE: Chelsea Clinton, who as a child was a frequent target of comedians and right-wing wing media, weighs in on Britt's cartoon, telling cartoonists in no uncertain terms to leave kids of politicians alone.
