This year, San Francisco’s Cartoon Art Museum and Book Club of California is teaming up with the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists and the Canadian cartoonists of the ACC for a 3-day celebration of all things editorial cartooning. See you in San Fran, this October 5-8!
This year’s theme, if it has one, will be “hanging out in cool bars with cartoonists as the world burns.” Here is the agenda for this year’s confab:
3pm Happy Hour at the Triton Hotel Bar for those arriving early.
4pm AAEC Board of Directors Meeting at Book Club of California.
6pm Meet & Greet at the Book Club of California for those arriving on Thursday. https://www.bccbooks.org/
8pm Dinner on your own (be sure to consult Scott Burns’ Guide to San Francisco!)
Friday morning and afternoon are open for exploring San Francisco and the Bay Area:
— There is a van scheduled for a Napa tour for those that expressed interest in wine country.
— The “AAEC Animation Ambassadors” will be meeting with Pixar in the afternoon.
— It is also “Fleet Week” with US Navy ship tours and an airshow from 10am-4pm over the Bay just north of the Cartoon Art Museum.
— The Burns Guide to SF has an extensive list of cafes, breweries, restaurants and museums in the area.

11:15am-12:15pm Panel #2 — Hands on workshop with Steve Brodner
12:30-1:30pm Panel #3 — Cartooning with KAL
1:30pm Lunch and free time on your own
6pm-7:30pm AAEC & ACC Awards Reception at the Book Club of California
8pm Pub Crawl starting at The Irish Bank around the corner from the BCC.
9am For those that don’t have a redeye out Sunday morning, there is a group breakfast at 9am at Roxanne Cafe. Seating is limited to 20 people, so if you’re interested check with Scott Burns about the signup list.
The AAEC has made arrangements for a block of rooms at Hotel Triton, 342 Grant Avenue, for $169 a night (and they’ve agreed to waive their “Urban Amenity Fee” for the occasion. If they say otherwise, contact us immediately.)
