Yet Another One Bites the Dust
Gordon Campbell announced last week that he has been let go by his newspaper of 16 years, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
"It was not unexpected but it was none-the-less painful," Gordon
wrote in an e-mail. "Today, after 16 years of ink-stained bliss my paper
divorced me! And just as the
election year was getting interesting!"
Gordon had been "a sort of a permanent stringer" for over a decade before finally becoming a staff cartoonist at the Daily Bulletin in 2003. He hopes to continue selling his cartoons on a freelance basis, but isn't hopeful. "I just wish there was an economically viable alternative industry to hop over to."
