Gary Varvel has jumped into the animation pool. The Indianapolis Star staff

Varvel wrote in an e-mail, "I'm no Walt Handelsman but my first attempt at animating an editorial cartoon for the newspaper's website has been successful. Time consuming? Yes. Will I do it again? Yes!"
