New Books

Detroit News editorial cartoonist Henry Payne has illustrated "Where Did Daddy's Hair Go?," a children's book written by Michigan resident Joe O'Connor.

Initially self-published, the book was quickly picked up by Random House Children's Books, according to a Detroit News article last week


Ted Rall's latest book -- "Silk Road to Ruin: Is Central Asia the New Middle East?" -- is finally headed to bookstores nationwide.

Four years in the making, this 304-page blend of comics, journalism and travelogue covers Rall's seven trips to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan -- and is the ultimate primer to the world's most remote (and dangerous) region.

Published by NBM and [full discloser time] edited by JP Trostle, "Silk Road to Ruin" debuted at last week's Comicon International in San Diego.
