More cartoonists, more books
"If Bill Hicks were alive today, what would Bill Hicks say?"
Cartoons by J.P. Trostle and Jeff Danziger are part of the new book "What Would Bill Hicks Say?" The title, published by Soft Skull Press, is a collection of recent essays and rants by comedians, cartoonists and writers, including Neal Pollack and Michael Kelly.
Bill Hicks was an up-and-coming comedian -- who is most often compared to Lenny Bruce and Sam Kinison -- who died of cancer in 1994 at the age of 33. "What Would Bill Hicks Say" is a look at America over the last five years from satirists and social critics who share Hicks' world view.

Also, according to E&P, former AAEC member Jef Mallett will release a new collection of his "Frazz" comic strips in August. The book, titled "99% Perspiration," will be published by Andrews McMeel Publishing.
"Frazz" appears in more than 150 newspapers via United Media.
