Show Updates

While The Baltimore Sun might not have appreciated cartoonist KAL, others in the city do. This summer, The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore will present over 200 works of art by Kevin "KAL" Kallaugher, including cartoons, sculptures and animations.

"Mightier Than The Sword: The Satirical Pen of KAL" will run from June 18 through September 3.

"We are very lucky to have such a respected political cartoonist residing right here in Baltimore," said Walters Director Gary Vikan. "His cutting caricatures are in the grand tradition of such artists as Honoré Daumier and Thomas Nast. We are honored to exhibit KAL's work at the Walters."

On Saturday, June 25, the cartoonist will give a lecture in the Graham Auditorium, and on June 21, July 12 and August 9, KAL will create his weekly Economist cartoon live in the exhibition's interactive gallery.

The Walters Art Museum is located at 600 North Charles Street in Baltimore. For more information, call 410-547-9000 or go to
www.thewalters.org.

Just a reminder: If you find yourself in London between now and July 1, stop by their Cartoon Museum for the exhibit “Mars in their Eyes.” The show focuses on cartoons about the Red Planet, and the “past, present and future of exploration and scientific discovery” on Mars.

It was announced last week, that in addition to Ed Hall, the exhibit showcases the work of AAEC members Tony Auth, Gary Brookins, Jeff Darcy, Walt Handelsman, Joe Heller, Mike Jenkins, Kal, Mike Luckovich, Jimmy Margulies, Jeff Parker, Henry Payne, Bruce Plante, Dwane Powell, Marshall Ramsey, John Sherffius, Mike Smith, Dana Summers, Mike Thompson, Tom Toles and Monte Wolverton.

The Cartoon Museum of London is located at 35 Little Russell Street, London WC1A 2HH. For more information, go to
www.cartoonmuseum.org.
