Ron Rogers
Ron Rogers , a native of
Richmond, Virginia , grew up mindful of history and politics, which has helped him in his career.
He is the editorial cartoonist at the South Bend Tribune. At various times in his career, Ron has worked as a free-lance editorial cartoonist, as well as an editorial cartoonist while working as a graphics editor, graphics director and assistant design editor/graphics at various newspapers in Alabama, Louisiana and
Indiana .
He started his career as a free-lance editorial cartoonist for The Richmond Afro-American and Planet in 1980. His editorial cartoons have appeared in numerous weeklies throughout the South, also. In August 2005, he joined the staff of the South Bend Tribune as cartoonist, having worked as a free-lance editorial cartoonist for the paper since 2002.
He has received numerous editorial cartoonist awards, including two statewide awards in Louisiana and two statewide awards in
Indiana while working with the South Bend Tribune. He recently received national recognition for cartooning from the Suburban Newspapers of America.
