Riley?

John Riley first started drawing cartoons under his desk at St. Patricks School in Brockton, Massachusetts. The desk afforded him great cover from the marauding nuns looking to smote any Lefthanders daring to use the hand of the Devil. He has since met over 6000 deadlines for a variety of newspapers. During that time he has won over 30 awards for his work through the Florida Press Assn., Maine Press Assn. and New England Press Assn..He also won a West Side Little League Championship as an assistant to the under-secretary bat-boy. John uses the pen-name "RILEY?" because he still doesn't know who he really is. He also hides "K9" in each of his cartoons as a tribute to his mom" Kay" and the 9 members of his family whom he can't reveal due to ongoing investigations and the Witness Protection Program.

A self-taught artist who has no schooling to speak of, other than repeating the third grade four times and flunking out of hair plug replacement school, John clawed his way out of Brockton to the sunny beaches of Siesta Key, Florida where he met many famous cartoonists (you know who you are) who were very supportive of his desire to become part of the flock. From emptying their trash to staying out of their way , John is very thankful for their kind words..."your work stinks and didn't I tell you to get me a jelly donut" and cherishes the time he spent with them (unlike the time he spent in the West Yarmouth, Ma. hoosegow...but that's another story)

John now lives with his wonderful wife Flavia, who is the best artist in the family, and two adorable children, Buckshot and Scrap-iron in the bucolic state of Maine. When not chasing his dog Baxter around the apple groves and rooting his beloved Red Sox on, he is at the gym still trying to break the 30 pound mark on the bench press.
