Hap Pitkin
Hap Pitkin lapsed into editorial cartooning in 2000, after chequered careers as a soap salesman, diplomat, human rights advocate, university administrator, career counselor and nonprofit director. He was drawn to cartooning as a chance to get paid for exactly the kinds of ideas that got him into trouble in his other jobs. And, er, to work for world peace.
His cartoons appear in the Boulder Daily Camera, the Longmont Times-Call and other publications, and have been reprinted in Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year, 2003, 2004 and 2005. He lives in Boulder with his wife and two daughters, who have nearly as many pets as they do basketballs, if you can imagine that.
