Joe Liccar
Joe Liccar, has been the full time Staff Editorial Cartoonist for The Examiner daily newspaper, Independence, Mo., (Kansas City Metro) since 2003. Joe also provides 6 editorial Cartoons per week for the Examiner's parent company, Gatehouse News national chain of Newspapers through Gatehouse News Service.
Joe Liccar has been a professional Editorial cartoonist since 1993 contributing to the editorial page content as well as specialty publications and advertising.
A Chicago native and die hard Cubs Fan, Joe's first words as a baby were "Ma-Ma", "Da-Da', and "Wait' ll next year". Liccar lives in Lee's Summit, Missouri with his wife Cathie, and two sons Joey, Jr. and Vince.
Joe is immersed in the community promoting the newspaper and the art of editorial cartooning at various appearances functions, schools and events.
He has published 2 books of his cartoons available through national booksellers and has won some Press Association awards for editorial cartooning.
A limited number of signed prints of Joe Liccar cartoons are available for a donation to Hope House ( A Kansas City area shelter for abused women and children).
