AAEC - Cartoonist Profile

Benjamin Hummel
In high school, I created cartoons for our school newspaper and I had my first piece published in the Denver Post as a freshman in college. After college, I spent my years working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, before settling as a staff prepress manager. After printing the work for other local cartoonists, I was inspired to dust off my pen and ink set. From that point forward, I began to parody every issue that got under my skin. I started a blog, from which I am currently self-syndicating (www.politixcartoons.com) and I have been picked up by the Independence Institute (www.i2i.org) and Backbone America (www.backboneamerica.org). I am available for freelance work and my work is available for reprinting.
