Joe Hoffecker
Joe Hoffecker began drawing editorial cartoons at a young age, when he should have been outside playing baseball. His drawings earned him a regular spot in his high school newspaper, which led to an art scholarship to Northern Kentucky University. There, he provided a weekly cartoon for the campus newspaper.
In 1987, he started as a production artist at the Business Courier in Cincinnati. Soon, his cartoons began in the weekly Courier as well as other American City Business Journals (ACBJ)newspapers around the U.S. In 1998, ACBJ launched the national Sports Business Journal, which Hoffecker also contributed cartoons.
Hoffecker is now the marketing director for the Business Courier, which creates some interesting looks from clients when told of his other job.
He also receives strange looks when singing along as a member of the Bierband, www.thebierband.com.
Hoffecker has won numerous awards and prizes for his editorial cartoons and often provides illustrations for local organizations.
Hoffecker is blessed with an awesome wife, three healthy kids and a wacky golden retriever. When not drawing (or marketing), he enjoys baseball, music, playing drums, brewing his own beer, renovating his old house, but mostly--hanging with his family.
