In 2008 one of his cartoons was awarded the Best of Ohio for a Non-Daily Newspaper by the Cleveland Press Club.
He has also illustrated 15 volumes in the Armchair Theologian Series, published by Westminster John Knox Press, which have been been translated into German, Italian, Korean and Japanese. He also accepts illustration commissions from local ad agencies and publishers, and has drawn for clients as diverse as Dungeons & Dragons and The Cleveland Indians (who occasionally summer in dungeons and basements).
Ron is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and learned to draw caricatures from the very famous John Johns. He continues to draw at parties and events. He lives in a suburbs of Clevleand, Ohio with his wife, Margie, and they have three adult children, 2 daughters-in-law and a granddaughter.
