Peter Evans

Peter Evans came to cartooning late....after he retired. Evans was born and educated in England but emigrated to Canada when he was 22. He left as a dental technician, arrived as a budding art director in a Toronto ad agency. Within 5 years he was creative director of one of Canada's largest. Fluent in Spanish, Evans was posted to Mexico City to head creative ops. Eventually, he moved to Miami and his own agency. Evans won over 150 awards in advertising. Not as many yet in cartooning, but he's catching up - numerous from the Florida Press Association, including First Place, 14 inclusions in the national 'Best Editorial Cartoons Of The Year" book, and 2008's Golden Spike Award from the Association Of American Editorial Cartoonists. He has been Florida's Islander News editorial cartoonist for the past 14 years.
