Frank Bernard

Frank Bernard attended the Massachusetts College of Art full-time for 2 years. He also studied cartooning, animation, and children's book illustration at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

Frank began drawing comic strips for his hometown newspaper in 1979 at the tender age of 12. In addition to comic strips, Frank has worked in several other areas of cartooning, such as political cartoons (for 15 Massachusetts newspapers), advertisement art (for clients such as McDonald's and Cheers), caricatures (among those to pose for Frank are "Dancing With The Stars" host Tom Bergeron), greeting cards (on an individual basis), and has even worked on theatrical scenery. He also does Flash animation.

In addition to working in cartooning, he has also taught cartooning at Bunker Hill Community College and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education in Massachusetts. In fact, he has taught cartooning in a classroom setting to all grade levels, from elementary school to high school to college.

He has lent his artistic talents to a number of charitable causes, including the Spina Bifida Association of America, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Scleroderma Foundation, Special Olympics and the Children's Miracle Network.
