Nathan Archer

Nathan Archer is a cartoonist, illustrator, and graphic designer living in Tallahassee, Florida. Since 2016, Nathan has produced editorial cartoons and video content for the Tallahassee Democrat. Before joining the Democrat, he published and contributed to Lydia Feeds The Pigeons, Tallahassee's local comic anthology. Nathan received his BFA in painting from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000 and his MA in arts administration from Florida State University in 2006. Description of Presentation: Make a Mini-Comic! (DIY Comic) Participants are given a sheet of preformatted paper and drawing materials to make a 6-page mini-comic. Emphasis placed on story structure (introduction, rising action, climax, resolution), as well as comic craft and production. Older kids (ages 10-14) will enjoy learning the ins and outs of comic book creation as they write, draw and produce their very own mini-comic. Theyll discover the joys of cartooning while learning industry tips and tricks from a comics pro.
Length of Presentation: 45-90 minutes
Availability: Please contact for availability.
Terms: Travel over 100 miles must be paid.
Setup Needs: Seating and table space for each participant must be provided. Presenter will provide all workshop materials.
